The Environmental Monitoring and Mitigation Plan Project Manager role is a fantastic opportunity for individuals to be part of the development of an innovative R&D project to aid the development of this new, low carbon industry in Wales.
This project is looking to develop an industry first Environmental Monitoring and Mitigation Plan for commercial scale deployments of tidal stream energy turbines. Wales has multiple sites for commercial scale deployments of tidal stream turbines and has the opportunity to place itself at the forefront of this industries development.
In joining this project you will be working within a network of industry leading academics and businesses based around the UK, including St Andrews University, Bangor University, Swansea University, MarineSpace and Juno Energy in developing this plan for the industry. By working on this project you will be part of the development and testing of technologies such as active sonar, underwater cameras, thermal imaging, mammal tagging along with the surveying of the local marine wildlife. You will also be working with key industry stakeholders such as Natural Resources Wales and RSPB in developing this innovative approach to enable the deployment of tidal stream turbines in Welsh waters.
The development of an Environmental Monitoring and Mitigation Plan via this project can form the basis of all commercial scale deployments of tidal stream turbines in Wales.
If you have an interest in a career in this highly skilled, new, low carbon industry this is an opportunity to be part of its commercialisation in Wales from the outset.
