The Port of Mostyn in North Wales has submitted a Marine Works application to Natural Resources Wales to construct a new 350 metre quay and create an additional 5.25 hectares of land for the construction of future fixed foundation and floating windfarm projects in the Irish and Celtic Seas.

The expanded infrastructure will increase the Port’s berth availability for the offshore renewable energy sector to 550m.

The load bearing of the new quay will be 15 tonnes per square metre UDL with 80 tonnes per square metre heavy lift pads, with a water depth alongside of minus 12m Chart Datum. The adjoining component storage and turbine assembly area will increase to 32 hectares.
