Home » Jay Sheppard appointed as new Programme Manager of Marine Energy Wales

Marine Energy Wales (MEW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Sheppard as its new Programme Manager.

Currently a Senior Project Manager within the team, Jay brings valuable experience and expertise across the marine energy sector, particularly in tidal energy. In his new role, he will lead the Marine Energy Wales team, support our membership and help drive forward the development of the sector in Wales.

Jay succeeds Tom Hill, who is leaving the organisation after joining MEW in 2021. Tom initially worked on the META project before coming Programme Manager in 2022. During his time in the organisation, he has played an important role in its development, providing leadership and support to its growing membership.

Charlie Allen has also been promoted to Senior Project Manager, where he will continue to focus on our offshore wind projects.

These appointments come at an important time for the marine energy sector in Wales, with significant opportunities emerging across tidal stream and floating offshore wind. MEW will continue to work with its members, industry partners and stakeholders to help realise Wales’ potential as a leading destination for marine renewable energy.

“These appointments reflect the strength and expertise within our team, and I look forward to seeing MEW continue to develop its work supporting the marine energy sector in Wales.

Wishing Jay, Charlie, and Tom the best of luck in their new roles.”

Tam Bardell, Chair, Marine Energy Wales
