Marine Energy Wales hosted a successful meeting today between the Secretary of State for Wales, Simon Hart MP, and a cross-section of marine energy members.
A number of interests, from developers through to testing zones, pitched in to outline the strategic importance the sector promises for Wales.
Garth Stockman, CEO of Marine Power Systems (pictured) showcased the innovation behind their flexible ocean energy technology while ORE Catapult, Morlais and the Tidal Range Alliance discussed the wider needs of the sector.
Jess Hooper, Programme Manager at Marine Energy Wales, said:
“Marine renewable energy is already bringing benefits to our coastal regions. We spoke at length about how this is set to develop. Not only what it can offer Wales in terms of energy resilience and decarbonisation, but also inward investment, economic growth, and job prospects.”
